We are looking for a skilled and experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team on a full-time basis. We offer the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and challenging projects. SALARY: DOE plus uplift for site work.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques to be used.
  • Setting up and operating welding equipment and tools, including TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
  • Performing welding and fabrication tasks, such as cutting, bending, and forming metal, using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Inspecting and measuring finished products to ensure that they meet the required specifications and AIM Group quality standards.
  • Identifying and reporting any defects or deviations from specifications to AIM Group Manufacturing.
  • Attending client facilities/sites to carry out site installs as required.
  • Following all AIM Group and client safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keeping equipment and work areas clean and well-maintained.
  • Collaborating with other members of the fabrication team to complete projects on schedule.
  • Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and quality.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition, as the job requires performing repetitive motions and lifting heavy materials.

 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Experienced in carrying out installs on client’s sites.
  • Site-specific safety qualifications (i.e Safety Passport, CSCS etc).
  • Qualified and Experienced in the use of Forklifts.
  • Experienced working within a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid clean driving licence is preferred.
